Kiang Malingue opens in New York

[09.05.2501.01.70]

(Venue)

50 Eldridge Street, New York, NY 10002

Celebrating the gallery’s 15th anniversary, we are thrilled to announce the opening of a space in New York.

Located in the Lower East Side, the gallery will open in May 2025 on the fourth floor of 50 Eldridge Street. The 3,500-square-foot space marks Kiang Malingue’s presence in the vibrant New York art scene as we continue to present paintings, videos, sculptures, installations, photography, and performances in support of our growing roster of established and emerging artists from Asia, Europe and the United States.

The inaugural exhibition will feature new works by Hiroka Yamashita, who had her first exhibition with the gallery in 2022. It will also be the Japanese artist’s debut in New York since her graduation from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, in 2019.

New York came through years of discussion about the vision of the gallery, and about our hope for the future. Coming from diverse backgrounds—France and Hong Kong/US—we are expanding from our beloved hub in Hong Kong. The gallery’s programme has developed persistence over the years, and has become the way in which we see the world and a glimpse of its possibilities through our artists’ unique perception.

Hopeful about what art can achieve, we look forward to meeting new friends and greeting old ones in New York.
