Edouard Malingue Gallery is delighted to announce Ho Tzu Nyen’s latest group exhibition, ‘El Usman Faroqhi Here and a Yonder: On Finding Poise in Disorientation’, a research exhibition by SAVVY Contemporary as part of the Harun Farocki Retrospective. Ho Tzu Nyen’s ‘The Nameless’ (2015), a video installation that revolves around a Sino-Vietnamese man named Lai Teck, who is played by iconic Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai will be on view. Lai Teck was one of the 50 known aliases of the Secretary General of the Malayan Communist Party from 1939 to 1947. Ho in this video project, presents this narrative through the use of existing Hong Kong film footage, later manipulated in order to highlight the characters hidden in the narrative.
