Eric Baudart is presenting his solo show ‘Chaud Patate’ at Mon Chéri in Brussels. Featuring a new installation of found seaside objects, the exhibition includes a piece from Baudart’s ‘paraSols’ (2016) series. It explores how one’s interaction with and understanding of an object can be changed completely by virtue of presentation and practice – in this case by presenting the bright, torn material taken from a beach parasol on the blank walls of the gallery. The notion of displaced materiality is a central part of Baudart’s practise and spurs his works’ contemporary resonance.
