Edouard Malingue Gallery is delighted to share the solo exhibition by Eric Baudart at Gallery Chez Valentin, Paris. The exhibition is called ‘Les Choses Classiques’ which translates to ‘Classical Things’.
Often times it is the displaced materiality in Baudart’s works that spurs their contemporary resonance. The works or situations proposed are not mere found objects but rather reconfigured and repurposed, composed and re-choreographed materials that have been carefully assembled or moulded to mount a delicate ballet of shapes, colour and form.
In ‘Les Choses Classiques’, Baudart presents a broad range of works comprising of materials like concrete restraints replicating a setting similar to that of a highway under construction, objects as unusual as seats covered by patterned fabrics, and potentially, minuscule chunks of luminous lights, amongst other elements.
