Ko Sin Tung has been awarded the ‘Jury’s Special Award’, one of the two 2016 Huayu Youth Awards. The prize is aimed at artists under the age of thirty-five who explore and experiment with the complex nature of contemporary culture. Ko is also participating in a group show of shortlisted candidates for the award as part of the 5th Art Sanya in Hainan province, China. The exhibition is being held alongside a programme of events including a presentation ceremony for the award, a salon on up-and-coming artists, and the Huayu Art Forum. It will showcase a selection of Ko’s works from the last three years that aim to create a visual dialogue between her personal feelings and her surrounding environment through a variety of mediums.
