Delighted to share Samson Young’s ‘Songs for Disaster Relief’ World Tour taking place at M+, Hong Kong. This Hong Kong edition of the exhibition was initially produced by the artist for the 57th Venice Biennale 2017. Curated by M+ Guest Curator Ying Kwok and Deputy Director and Chief Curator Doryun Chong, the exhibition features a series of sculptures, objects, videos, sound installations and site-specific pieces, offering a unique audio-visual experience that re-examines the popularity of charity singles from the 1980s. The work aims at exploring the social, philosophical, and political questions that these compositional techniques and procedures pose in a cross-cultural context. Additionally, the exhibition is accompanied by a series of talks, guided tours, and live performances.
