Sun Xun has been selected for the group exhibition “Thinking Currents: An Exhibition and Curatorial Platform”, an extension of Asia Contemporary Art Week at the Inaugural Seattle Art Fair. Curated by Leeza Ahmady, the show presents the experimentation with moving image by some of today’s most compelling artists based around the Pacific Rim, and as such constructs a critical inquiry about the undercurrents of global contemporaneity. By problematising the cultural, political and geographical parameters of the locale, collective archetypes are reconsidered with the hope of deconstructing the ethnographic and technological implications surrounding artistic practices. On display will be Sun Xun’s animation “What Happened in the Year of Dragon” (2014).
