Edouard Malingue Gallery is thrilled to share Sun Xun’s first solo exhibition in Australia at The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA). Curated by Anna Davis, this show comprises of Sun Xun’s most important animated works, as well as paintings, drawings and woodcuts from the past ten years of his practice. Additionally, Sun Xun will present new works commissioned for MCA including his gigantic painting, ‘Maniac Universe’ (2018), over 40 metres in length, painted on handmade bark paper and lit by ultraviolet light in the gallery. The exhibition also incorporates a residency project, allowing the public to view Sun Xun painting a new work during the opening week.
