Wang Wei’s work will be exhibited side-by side with that of Li Jinghu as part of Boers-Li Gallery’s exhibition ‘Among Friends’. By asking the gallery’s artists to choose a friend to exhibit their work with, the gallery has created a detailed exploration of the importance of social influence and interaction on an artists’ work. Li shares Wang’s use of his immediate surroundings as a key influence, and both artists are concerned with the evolution of the idiosyncrasies of our daily lives. By presenting the work of both artists side by side, we can see the artistic dialogue which has taken place, evidence of the importance of discussion, engagement and discourse in artistic practice.
