Wong Ping’s site-specific installation, ‘Who’s the Daddy’ (2017) is currently being presented at Interstitial, Seattle. ‘Who’s the Daddy’ combines the crass and the colourful to mount a discourse around repressed sexuality, personal sentiments, and political limitations. Simultaneously humorous and dark in its execution, Ping’s newest animation depicts a personal narrative of sexuality, birth, and fatherhood. ‘Who’s the Daddy’ functions as a personal window into the pressure and sexual repression of the male identity, questioning the impact of these social issues on a generation dependent and immersed in technology.
