Pleased to share that Wong Ping’s recent work, ‘Wong Ping’s Fables 2’ (2019) will be part of the 49th edition of International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).

Behind its retro-pop colours and video game sound effects, Wong Ping’s animated fables unpeel the social fabric of Hong Kong to expose the chilling pains endured by a society inching towards hyper-consumerism and a police state. Completed before the pro-democracy protests of 2019, the dark turns taken in the lives of an ex-activist vegetarian cow and a three-headed rabbit show what may have caused tensions to boil over.
