Yuan Yuan has been selected for the group exhibition ‘Takashi Murakami’s Superflat Collection – Shōhaku and Rosanjin to Anselm Kiefer” at Yokohama Museum of Art. Drawing from the renowned contemporary Japanese artist and curator Takashi Murakami’s private collection, the show elucidates the notion of “superflat” as both an attribute of decorativeness and a rejection of hierarchical divisions between different artistic genres or eras, and as such emancipates art from conventional typologies. The exquisite selection, spanning across Japanese and Asian artifacts, European antiques, contemporary pottery and folk art, will feature Yuan Yuan’s ‘Must Be OK with Humidity’ (2013).
