Wong Ping’s animation ‘An Emo Nose’ will be screened at Vancouver Art Gallery on 10 March as part of ‘Ambivalent Pleasures’, a collection of artworks referring to the complex nature of pleasure in the early 21st century. Wong Ping’s animation follows the story of a man’s heart-shaped nose that moves away in distance from his face with every negative thought, the protagonist becoming more reclusive the further the distance living through the smell and sensation of the unseen organ.
